Chairman Wontumi hooted by Brong Ahafo delegates for anti-Afoko comments

A leaked audio from the ongoing 2018 NPP National Delegates Congress is making rounds, in which the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is being hooted at by delegates of the party from the Brong Ahafo region.

Wontumi was heard telling them, at a meeting, to vote for the ‘President’s choice’ because the President would be hurt if they failed to do so.

His remarks angered the delegates who retaliated by chanting ‘Time Aso… Time Aso’ when he made unpleasant comments about the ousted Party Chairman Paul Afoko.

The Brong Ahafo delegates scattered the meeting with Wontumi struggling to take control of the meeting.

Delegates and members of the incumbent New Patriotic Party(NPP) have converged at the Eastern regional capital, Koforidua to decide on persons who will man the affairs of the party over the next 4 years at their National Delegates conference. About 41 approved and vetted members of the party are vying for the various executive positions.

The positions include National Chairperson – First, Second and Third-, General Secretary, National Treasurer and National Organiser.

The rest are National Women Organiser, National Youth Organiser and National Nasara Coordinator.
