The vice-presidential nominee of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Gabby Nketiah, has said he will shift from theory to practice regarding programmes and proposals to deal with the economic problems Ghanaians are saddled with, in the event of a CPP government coming into place after December’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday October 6, Mr Nketiah, 73, a retired diplomat, said: “…Party politics is not about holding entrenched positions and becoming bitter enemies, that is not the way forward. There is a deeper sense through which I desire to show. The way forward is peace and progress.”

“I am driven by that simple idea that politically, we create a perfect future for ourselves and our children, but can only do so when we work together with a new purpose, new direction and new leadership led by Ivor Greenstreet, adding that he will be more practical rather than theoretical as a vice president.

“Ghana has fine traditions of tolerance and openness, speaking up for the underdog, and, at least many are ready to teach those steps.”
