CID appoints liaison officers for Suale, Josephine and Taadi cases

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service is appointing liaison officers to give situation reports to families of some cases under investigation.

These are families of Ahmed Suale, the four missing Takoradi girls and Mrs Josephine Tandoh Asante.

The Deputy Director of CID, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr George Tweneboah, disclosed this on Tuesday when an 8-man delegation from the family of Mrs Asante called on the Director-General of the CID, Commissioner of Police (COP), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah at the national headquarters.

The objective of the delegation, led by Abusuapanin, Kofi Atta of Aboradze Clan of Cape Coast to acquaint self with progress so far made in the investigation into her death.

According to ACP, Mr Tweneboah who deputized for the CID boss, the appointment of liaison officers will facilitate the flow of information between police and the respective families.

The delegation which also included Mr Kwame Asante, the widower and Mr Robert Tandoh, brother of the deceased, was told informed that the docket on her case has been forwarded to the Attorney General's Office awaiting advice as to the next line of action.

Ahmed Suale, an undercover investigative journalist with Tiger Eye P I fame was shot three times and killed by unknown gunmen on a bike on the 16th of January 2019 at Madina, a suburb of Accra.

The four Takoradi girls got missing between August last year and early this year and a number of suspects, including some Nigerian nationals have so far been picked to assist with the Inquisition.

Police, who have adopted a reliable but unscientific means to solve some murder cases exactly a month ago, discovered human remains in septic tanks in Takoradi suspected to be those of the missing girls, hence embarking on forensic analysis to determine the DNA of the bones.

Mrs Josephine Tandoh Asante, then Manager of Marketing and Public Affairs at the Tema Port of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) was on the 13th of January 2019 found murdered in her Emefs Hillview Estate, near Afienya in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region.

Police arrested two persons, the houseboy and official driver to assist and in the cause, were subjected through scientific tests but none matched what police has on their record.

They have since been granted bail pending the outcome of the report from the law office.
