Boakye Yiadom confident Ghana will win AFCON 2015

Ghana striker Richmond Boakye has taken to Twitter to express confidence in the Black Stars capability of lifting the trophy at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 21-year-old Atalanta attacker, who was part of the Black Stars squad for the South Africa 2013 AFCON, disagrees with the popular opinion amongst football fans that Ghana’s squad with 11 debutants is far from a Nations Cup winning team.

“Good luck, Black Stars – you’ll deliver AFCON 2015 to Ghanaians! Asamoah Gyan is captain fantastic. Believe in Ghana,” Boakye Yiadom posted on his official Twitter account.

The Black Stars will open their Equatorial Guinea 2015 campaign with a Group C match against Senegal in Mongomo on Monday.

Four-time African champion, Ghana has not won the AFCON title since the Libya 1982 tournament.
