5,659 sits for BECE in Kpone-Katamanso

More than five thousand six hundred candidates from the Kpone Katamanso municipality are currently writting the 2018/2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 18 local examination centres.

In an interview with Mr.Dickson Klu, Municipal Director of Education, he stated that, the candidates were taken through adequate preparation to write their papers.

The Municipal Education Director also noted that out of the 5,659 registered candidates, 2,742 were boys and 2918 girls.

Mr. Klu explained that there was adequate security in place to check all forms of examination malpractices and criminality adding that, "23 police officers have been deployed to man all the 18 examination centres".

Mr. Solomon Tettey Appiah Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Kpone Katamanso, told the GNA after touring some of the centers that, the candidates had comported themselves creditably.

He added that every registered candidate was present to write the examination saying it was a sign of good commitment on the part of candidates.

Master Derick Amatey, final year student of Royals of Shakespeare International School (ROSIS), said he was well prepared and was hopeful that the questions would be friendly.

Master Amatey thanked his teachers for their time and commitment in preparing them for the exams.

There are 184 schools writing the West African Examination Council (WAEC) facilitated 2018/2019 BECE in the Kpone -Katamanso Municipality out of which 151 are private and 33 public schools.
