MzVee has described the reception given her after she returned to the music scene as ‘crazy’.

The musician who is on record to have said she was “super depressed” between 2017 and 2018 to the extent that her situation negatively affected her professional relationship, in an interview on TV3’s New Day expressed that she never expected to be given such a rousing welcome.

“Ghana is not an easy country; you don’t just get up and leave and expect to come back and everyone is giving you hugs and kisses. People will forget you,” she said. “It’s happened to a lot of people so for it not to happen to me and for me to receive more love, is something else.”

“It’s been really crazy. It’s been exciting, it’s been much more than I expected especially on social media. When I post a picture, the comments are very emotional and I can tell people have missed me; people are waiting for me to do more,” a lively MzVee told host MzGee.

In September last year, MzVee ended her 8-year working relationship with Lynx Entertainment. According to statements issued by the singer and the record label, the contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Prior to this, she had not been relatively active in music for about two years.

News of her comeback in January this year spread like inferno especially when she opened up about how depression nearly ruined her life. She said her condition was so dire at the time to the extent that she resolved to take a break to do soul-searching.

“When my whole depression thing happened, I did un-follow people… I just wanted time away. I was lashing out in ways I didn’t even understand…I pulled away from everyone…I coiled up in my shell,” she revealed while adding her colleague, Efya, helped her recovered.

The comeback was cemented with the release of a single titled “Sheriff”.
