Actor and tailor, Elikem Kumordzie, has apologised to veteran actor Kofi Ajorlolo, over what he calls as a misconstrued understanding of his comments.

The actor took to his Instagram earlier today to explain what he meant by actors having a day job.

Elikem in reaction to Kofi Adjorlolo’s outburst that some Ghanaian movie producers don’t pay, said “I agree one hundred per cent that producers don't pay ... being in that position made me realize this other talent mine."

He added, "this goes to all other actors, you can't wanna do entertainment and not have a day job".

The tailor cum part-time actor’s comment did not sit well with some of his colleagues, who decided to speak against his advice.

Among the actors who reacted to Elikem’s is James Gardiner, who schooled him on how acting is also a full-time job. The several reactions from his colleague caused the actor to render an apology to Kofi Ajorlolo.

According to Elikem, he didn’t mean any malice when he gave the advice that actors should have a day job. Using himself as an example, the actor revealed that he became a tailor because producers were not paying him well, and he took advantage of that situation to better himself.

“I want to apologise to Kofi Ajorlolo, I respect him as a father, I sincerely apologise if it came across as if I was debunking his statement or going against what he said…”

According to the actor, he agrees with the fact that producers do not pay for work done, the reason he advised that his colleagues needed to have other jobs aside acting.

He advised young and up and coming actors to find other things that would sustain them financially, rather than relying solely on the revenue they make from acting.
