Ace actor, Akwasi Boadi, better known as Akrobeto, has bought into the GFA’s #BringBackTheLove campaign with a clarion call on Ghanaians to quit castigating the Black Stars and back them to victory in their 2021 AFCON qualifier against South Africa in Cape Coast today.

The 58-year-old urged Ghanaians to overcome the disappointment at the last AFCON and support the Stars with every little drop of their blood to enable them win today’s match.

Speaking to UTV sports about today’s game between the Stars and South Africa, Akrobeto hilariously said, “If Ghanaians want to bring the love, they have for football back, then we should support the Black Stars because jabbing them will not fix their mistakes in previous matches.

“If they win and we enjoy, we enjoy in our country. Let’s know that football is always about togetherness and if we fail to do so we fall. I am pleading with Ghanaians to storm the Cape Coast stadium in thousands and support the team”, he added.

Akrobeto stated that Ghanaians should remain supportive of the Black Star irrespective of the results of a game and bring back the unshaken love they had for the team some years back because the players need it now more than ever.

He added that it is high time Ghanaians stop criticizing the players and give them love and encouragement to strengthen them “kill” themselves for the team.

“We should bear in mind that every country is playing football and if it was only one country that was always playing there wouldn’t be any problem. It was cyclical and the Black Stars are trying hard to kill themselves for the team and they should be loved and not chastised”. He said.

He also shared his thought on whether or not Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah should be sacked for his poor performance, saying, “The chance is for you Kwesi to prove your worth to Ghanaians so that if someday you retire Ghanaians will continue to praise your prominence and allow other Ghanaian coaches to manage the team and not foreigners. Ghanaians are tired of giving the team to foreigners who perform poorly even more than our own”.

The Black Stars are under the intense pressure of Ghanaians after the team’s poor showing at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
