The 2016 presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet, has commended President Akufo-Addo for taking the bold decision to fight the world pandemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to him, decisions taken by President Akufo-Addo so far have been very important in the fight against the virus.

He particularly cited the mandatory quarantine, to which, he said those who tested positive would have spread the virus if the President had not ordered that they should be mandatorily quarantined.

Mr Ivor Greenstreet showered praises on President Akufo-Addo while giving his remarks when the political parties met President Akufo-Addo at Jubilee House earlier today.

To him, governments in other countries delayed, or were hesitant or indecisive in their quest to combat the virus, but President Akufo-Addo and his government were not.

“We have also been witnesses to how some governments, perhaps, have been slow or hesitant with important decisions they should have made.

“Fortunately, this is not a charge, Mr President, your government can be accused of. I think your decisions thus far have been decisive, resolute and very important. I say this from a personal perspective,” he stated, citing the mandatory quarantine and its results.

He said that every Ghanaian should be in heightened on the state of awareness, to ensure the precautionary measures are adhered to. He urged that education should be intensified to create awareness of the virus.
