Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has hinted that the association will indulge government in finding a way to pay the $10k fine imposed on them by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Ghana was fined a sum of $10,000 by CAF for the pitch invasion by Awal Suleman during Ghana’s 2-0 win over South Africa at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium during the 2021 AFCON qualifiers last year.

In an interview with Accra-based Class FM, he said the punishment is manageable but they will try and engage the government on how they will pay the fine.

“I mentioned that we were expecting more not because I said we were expecting CAF to fine us with an amount that is more than they decided on.”

“I think it is manageable. From the side of the FA, I don’t think we would appeal. We will allow the verdict to run.

“What we intend doing is probably engage government and see how we would make the payment,” said Henry Asante Twum.
