‘We are fed up’ - Twitter users react to Akufo-Addo’s ninth address

Scores of Ghanaians on Twitter have expressed varied opinions following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s updates on Ghana’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The president on Sunday, May 10, 2020, addressed the country for the ninth time on measures taken against the spread of coronavirus in the country.

But some Ghanaians on Twitter seem to have lost their interest in the president’s speech.

Using the hashtag ‘NanaAddo’, some spoke about how they engaged themselves in other activities because they were extremely irritated by the president’s speech.

“Lowkey everybody dey taya nana addo en speech... We’ve all agreed that by june na we all go,” a tweep wrote.

“Be like rn everybody lose interest for Nana Addo in speech inside. Nothing extra same old same,” another wrote.

One tweep read, “Nana Addo: I’m about to give address and you are watching date Rush with my own electricity? We shall see.”

Pastors who have appealed for the lifting of ban on social gatherings were also trolled.

“Fellow Ghanaians, Nana Addo says ban on social gatherings continues and I am here thinking about my Favourite Nation’s Prophet Opambour. Papa this too shall pass ok,” someone wrote.

“Rydee kyiriabosom dey studio dey come record diss song give Nana Addo for extending the social gathering to 31st may,” another stated.

“This ban on social gatherings Nana Addo extend dey vex the pastors pass everybody for Ghana here. I sure say if he lift am obinim den kumchacha dey go release dis track for am.”
