VGMA 2016: Ghanaian musicians love hype too much - Pope Skinny

Pope Skinny Pope Skinny

After the nominees list for this year’s VGMAs was released, lots of our Ghanaians musicians seem not be enthused especially about this year’s list.

Most of them have taken to their social media platforms to vent out their displeasure notably among them are Criss Waddle, Guru, D Black. The latest to join is Kasahare host cum musician, Pope Skinny.

According to Pope Skinny, Ghanaian musicians love hype too much, and that’s why they are being taken for granted.

He also labelled the awards scheme as private music awards but not Ghana music awards.

He posted, “I SWEAR GHANA ARTIST YOU PEOPLE DEY LOVE HYPE TOOO MUCH.THAT BE WHY ALL THIS THINGS DEY HAPPEN.NOW GUD MUSIC DNT COUNT NO MORE.BACK IN THE DAY. YOU NEED TO HAVE AN ALBUM BEFORE YOU GET THE CHANCES TO PERFORM ON ALL THIS BIG STAGES, BUT NOW U NEED A SINGLE HIT TO EVEN PERFORM OUTSIDE GHANA.VERY SOON SOME PEOPLE GO CHOP CHOP SLAP SO THAT THEY KNOW WE ARE SERIOUS IN THIS MUSIC INDUSTRY.ITS SAD WATI.WE ALL SHOULD KNOW THAT ITS NOT?#?GHANAMUSICAWARDS BUT ?#?PRIVATEMUSICAWARDS”. He ended.
