Stephanie Benson to outdoor inspiring and exciting new projects

Ghanaian international singer, Stephanie Benson who stole the hearts of many Ghanaians during the ‘Vodafone Icons: Divas Edition’ contest earlier this year, is set to release a collection of songs as part of her collaborative project with young and talented musicians in Ghana.

Stephanie, who is a gifted vocalist and performer has performed mostly in Europe throughout her 20 years career, is currently in the finishing stages of her studio collaboration with some contestants from the Vodafone Icons reality TV show, namely Diamonds, Colours And Kyses, Eboni, Keshi 3.

The project is set to be an energetic high tempo one, with interesting twist to the genre of music that the singer is acclaimed for.

Stephanie comments: “This collaboration came about after the Vodafone Icons project ended and I realized some of the talented girls who didn’t win were still enthusiastic to pursue their dreams and needed a boost in their quest to become musicians hence my decision to work with these talented ladies.”

It has been a full circle experience for the ladies who participated in the Vodafone Icons competition to come from being judged by Stephanie Benson to singing and performing with her. The entire project was recorded at Scratch Studios engineered by Freeman and Produced by one of Ghana’s young and talented music producers called “Malaika” who also had a duet with Stephanie Benson on the collection. Stephanie Benson is enthusiastic about Abraham Ohene Djan taking the mantle to shoot the official music video of the lead single, which would hopefully debut in November 2011.

Known for her unique sense of style and glamorous costumes on stage and sometimes borderline controversial outfits all custom made by Jenny Packham, one of Englands’ High Society top designer, who has dressed stars like Katy Perry, Sandra Bullock and Kate Middleton, Stephanie Benson assures her fans the costumes for this music video will not disappoint. She will be dressed by KNAF Couture and the ladies will be clothed by fashion design house, Dreams – both African wear designers.

In a related development Stephanie Benson dropped a hint about her dream grand project of opening a school of Performing Arts for young and talented youth ranging from 16 to 25 years. Her lips were sealed when asked about the school project and only said Ghana is endowed with so much talent in the performing arts and yet there are no professional performing arts schools like we have in the west to groom and launch such talents hence her decision to open a performing arts school in Ghana.

Stephanie Benson also said this school will be one of a kind in West Africa where talented teens and young adults will have the professional guidance and support to launch into the world of showbiz locally and internationally.
