“She [my grandmother, Mary] always wanted me to do live music. She liked hip-hop, but she was more into live music, the live drums, live guitars, not too much that’s computerized. I should have done it for her and now she’s gone” was Sarkodie’s reason for naming his fourth studio album ‘Mary’ which came with the grandmother’s picture as the cover art.

As he prepares to unveil his fifth, ‘Highest’, on September 8, 2017, Africa’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie has released the cover art and it is no other than his daughter, Titi.

At an album listening session in Accra, Friday, Sarkodie explained that Titi has influenced his life indicating that he is now cautious of his utterances.

The 18-track album features Wolarsi, Victoria Kimani, Flavour, Big Nasty, Koredde Bello, with 90% of the tracks produced by Ghana’s JaySo who is also featured on some of the songs.

Sarkodie’s first album, ‘Makye’ was released in 2009 followed by ‘Rapperholic’ in 2012, ‘Sarkology’ in 2014, and ‘Mary’ in 2015.
