Sammy Gyamfi's arrest 'much ado about nothing' - Lawyer

A member of the Legal Team for Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe has explained the arrest and confiscation of Mr. Sammy Gyamfi is much ado about nothing.

According to him, the NPP government out of desperation is behaving as if they will wield power forever.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia program, he accused government of disrespecting the judiciary by its action.

"If a matter is in court and you try to undermine the court by using state power, you will only end up abusing the judiciary.

"But I can tell you that this case against my client Mr. Sammy Gyamfi will not go anywhere. The NPP government should be very careful with the way they handle things in this country," Lawyer Tamakloe cautioned.


He was fully convinced that there is no substance in the accusations leveled against his client, adding that he believed the police are only attempting to intimidate him.

The embattled NDC National Communications Officer was released by the police a few hours after the security agencies effected his arrest over his involvement in alleged cybercrime.

He is currently on police inquiry bail and yet to be charged.

Sammy Gyamfi was arrested after he participated in a live studio discussion on UTV's "Adekye Nsroma" morning show on Monday.
