David Kwaku Effum Boafo who’s professionally known as Obibini is one of the finest contemporary lyricist Ghana can boast of.
But the truth is, Obibini rarely makes it into the news and it’s somehow worrying as in the voice of his fanatics. Nonetheless, the rapper in question is putting a lot of work in his craft behind the scenes.
In a recent interview with Amansan Krakye of Radio Central, his silence in the game is as a result of an album he’s cooking. Giving some tips about the upcoming album, the Zylofon signed act posited that “Codes and Diagrams” happens to be the name of the album.
He added that “Codes and Diagrams” contains 20 songs with half of it being Afrobeat whereas the remaining 10 are HipHop just for the lovers of real and undiluted rap.
Touching on what informed the choice of “Codes and Diagrams” as the album name, he reiterated that one needs to think thoroughly to understand the tracks on the album. He asserted that, a rap song which is easy to understand lacks the requisite ingredients of rap music.
Simply put, one has to decode the content, rhythm and rhymes to understand, therefore “Codes and Diagrams”. More importantly, the upcoming album employed the services of acts like Stonebwoy, Kelvinboy, Akwaboah, Kumi Guitar and others.
However, there will be the release of a 5-track list tape dubbed “Diagrams” to wet the appetite of his fans, fanatics as well as Ghana music enthusiasts before the release of the “Codes and Diagrams” before the end of 2019.
