There have been recent calls for the Director-General of the Criminal investigations Department, (CID) COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to step down following recent development of the three Takoradi missing girls’ case.

If you may recall, the CID Boss indicated that the police knew the whereabouts of the girls.

In a sharp turn around, she said her comments were misconstrued and that she only wanted to encourage the families of the missing girls.

She received a lot of bashing except the ruling government.

Recently, the police have discovered four skeletons suspected to be that of the missing girls.

According to critics, if indeed forensic report confirms that the skeletons belonged to the girls, Madam Tiwa should be sacked.

Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide reacting to this on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ has suggested that Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah should not have commented on the Takoradi missing girls.

“I agree the PR function of the police is problematic and we have advised them to take a look at it. For instance, as CID boss or SWAT commander, your expertise is technical; but there are people with technical expertise in PR so it will be important to allow them to discharge their duty,” he indicated.
