The Diasporan community saw Ghanafest in Chicago, USA showcasing the Ghanaian culture to the world which had over 10,000 attendees, Then came the New York Picnic, the Black Star and Senegal game in London, UK. After the Black Star-Senegal game, London is about to experience onE of the most talked about and anticipating Ghanaian event; The first ever Euro-Ghana Heritage & Reunion Festival.

The Euro – Ghana Heritage & Reunion Festival in collaboration with OBE TV is the first of its kind event to take place in London. It happens on Sunday; August 26th at the Excel Center The concept and model of the event is quite simple, Euro- Ghana will serve as a platform to unite all Ghanaians living in the Diaspora under one roof as we celebrate Ghana @ 50 as well as an opportunity for old school students to reunite and network among themselves.

A key benefit of Euro-Ghana will offer the opportunity for old students to develop their associations, which would be used to benefit its members and its schools. Some of objectives are as follows:

To create more awareness of existing Old Students Associations, thus expand the membership base of these associations.

Provide more and effective support needed by their Alma Maters.

This support could be either in the form of educational scholarships, sport equipment or any other needs

This event will also be a social/entertainment gathering for people to link up and make contacts as well as reminiscence the good old days!

With over 800,000 Ghanaians living in the UK alone, this event is expected to be the largest ever official gathering of Ghanaians living outside Ghana.

The estimated attendance for the event is 2500 add to this, we expect other Ghanaians from Europe & America to attend. Ghana is often described as a land of festivals, music, and traditional dances. There is hardly any community, clan, or tribe which lacks an occasion to celebrate annually and when 1000’s of Ghanaians dovetail in one place, to be reunited with one another, and to celebrate their homeland, it will be a truly special event.
