Obrafour’s documentary premiere in limbo as Hammer raises objection

Veteran music producer Edward Nana Poku Osei known in showbiz as Hammer has said that he has called for the suspension of Obrafour’s ‘Pae Mu Ka’ documentary.

The management had scheduled the premiere of the documentary for September 27, 2019, at the Silverbird Cinema.

Hammer who has been the godfather of Obrafour since the nascent stages of the rapper’s career told Kwame Dadzie in an interview on Citi FM’s ‘Celebrity Radar’ that he has spotted some inconsistencies in the accounts given by some of the people that featured in the documentary and would not wish that it goes out uncorrected.

“Even the documentary producers have sighted inconsistencies in people’s stories yet they are going ahead anyway. The writer of the book is also reporting inconsistencies in people’s accounts yet they are allowing it to go ahead because of a premiere they booked,” he said.

“I won’t have that because the situation is that this thing is for posterity. It has to be said right, it has to be told right. You can’t take back what comes out. When something is released it is released forever and I won’t sit down and allow some of these things,” he added.

He further stated that Obrafour had given him his consent to pull the reins on the release of the documentary until the corrections are done.

Meanwhile, the management of Obrafour have been tight-lipped about the new development.

When asked by ghanaweekend.com if the premiere would be held on the scheduled date, management team member, Edward Owusu said they could not confirm.

However, the producer of the documentary, Nathalie Anang says she has not received any directive from the management to suspend the premiere.

This comes a few weeks after controversies were rife about Sarkodie’s unavailability for the shoot of the documentary.

In the meantime, Sarkodie who could not feature in the initial work has shot his part and will be featured in the final product.
