The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has paid a courtesy call on the paramount chief of the La Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region to seek permission for the party’s manifesto launch.

The party’s launch of its 2016 manifesto will be at the Trade Fair. In line with custom, Mr Akufo-Addo visited the paramount chief, the custodian of the land, to ask for his consent and blessings for a successful programme.

The three-time flag bearer told the chief: “We will be coming to perform that significant event on La jurisdiction and I plead for maximum blessings from you.”

He indicated that La was very important and had become the “crossroad” to Greater Accra, serving as a convenient place for such important programmes.

He used the opportunity to emphasise the need for the La people to vote for the party’s parliamentary aspirant, Vincent Odotei, to win the La Dadekotopon seat.

For him, the 2016 elections remain crucial for the NPP and emphasised the need for good leadership which he said the NPP will provide to spur development in the country.

For his part, Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru, the paramount chief and overlord, commended Nana Akufo-Addo for acknowledging the authority of the traditional council.

He added that the people of the area would be available to offer their support during the manifesto launch.

The chief underscored the need for Ghanaians to realise that “only God will decide” who leads the country in the next presidential term.

Nii Tsuru said he was glad that “all the presidential aspirants have revealed that they look up to God”.

For him, everyone should look up to God to unveil the right person to lead Ghana as president in order for the country to benefit from blessings, development and prosperity.
