Liranz CEO Nicholas Bortey wins Man of the Year Info Technology at the 3rd Emy Africa Awards 2018

Mr. Nicholas Bortey, Chief Executive Officer Liranz limited has annexed another prestigious award – adding to the plethora of others won in a short span of time. He was honored as Man of the Year for Information Technology (The Inventor Award) by the Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards at a star-studded ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on Saturday 18th August, 2018.

The multiple award-winning Tech entrepreneur was honoured alongside other prominent Ghanaians for his passion and dedication to quality and excellence in the IT space.

Mr. Nicholas Bortey has broken several barriers in the Information Technology sector in Ghana which has been recognized by the International Nobles Awards, as part of the award he was inducted into the West Africa Nobles Forum 2018. He’s currently won the International Award of Merit held in August 2018.

He was also adjudged the best innovation & technology entrepreneur of the year 2017 by Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives (GECE) Awards 2017, 40 under forty innovation & technology category winner 2017, Young ICT entrepreneur of the year 2017 by GITTA. The Confederation of West African Youths has also acknowledged him as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Persons In West Africa. He has also being nominated in the Ghana’s 50 most influential and Ghana’s 100 most influential. These and many others.

He participated in a research study into IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) space in Ghana with Dr. Mohammed Amir Anwar from the University of Oxford.

Through his leadership, Liranz has developed breakthrough solutions and built strong relationships with clients spanning various sectors of the economy including; Oil and Gas, Financial Services, Legal Services, Logistics & Transportation, Real Estate, Agriculture, Education, Startups etc.



Since the establishment of his company Liranz, Mr. Bortey has successfully grown the business with his strong team at Liranz to be adjudged the IT Consulting firm of the year in for the second consecutive time, 2017 and 2018 by Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA).

His company was also recognized by GITTA as the IT Managed Services Provider for the year 2018 at an award ceremony held at Movenpic Hotel on 29th June 2018. Liranz was also recognized by the West Africa Business Excellence Awards as the Most Outstanding ICT firm for the year 2017 barely six years after set up.

Mr. Nicholas Bortey has over a decade of experience in IT Service Management, IT Service delivery approach, Project management, Digital Transformation strategy, Business Transformation, IT Strategy management and Alignment, Multimedia Communication, Business development and entrepreneurship. He has consulted at both executive and operational levels helping organizations achieve real business value with appropriate technology.

Currently, Mr. Nicholas Bortey is using his experience and leadership skills to mentor and impact the lives of so many Ghanaians through his Liranz foundation which organizes annual seminars and mentorship programs for undergraduates, graduates and entrepreneurs.

Nicholas’ immense experience and knowledge is felt across all aspects of the Liranz business, including strategic planning, general management, staff management and key account management.

Other awards winners were Togbe Afede XIV, Dr. Grace Amey-Obeng, Emeritus Professor Joseph Hanson Kwabena Nketia, Franklin Cudjoe, Daddy Lumba, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Opanin Kwadwo Kyere, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Mr. Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, Okyeame Kwame, Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Isaac Dogboe, Daddy Lumba, and Dr Moses De-Gaulle Dogbatsey.



In attendance were former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, MUSIGA boss Obour, boxing legend Prof Azumah Nelson, broadcaster Abeiku Santana, actresses Salma Mumin, Roseline Ngissah, and many others.

There were performances from musicians such as Trigmatic, Daddy Lumba, Nigerian singer Simi and others.
