King Stylus praises Ghana

While some industry gurus have blamed dancehall as causing the downfall of the music industry in Ghana, Jamaican born, London based dancehall artiste, Stylus, has praised the genre and decided to promote the remix of his single titled Informa in Ghana.

“With the likes of Stonebwoy, Jupitar, Shatta Wale and Episode taking dancehall to the next level; I want Ghana to enjoy my latest single Informa remix featuring Stonebwoy.

“Although I have started promotions in other African countries, I really admire the works of these young dancehall artistes in Ghana, hence, the reason I am happy to promote my song in Ghana” he said

On the song, Stylus, real name, Tammar Campbell, talks about the term ‘Informa’ which is a Jamaican street slang that can be applied to a person who spreads rumours about things they don’t really know the facts about. Stonebwoy comes in to sing about enemies not succeeding no matter how hard they try to bring them down.

The single, produced by SP-Muzik is a fast tempo dancehall song with a very catchy chorus and thumping beat that the melody rides on.

Known for songs like Fly Away, Nah Switch, Marching Along and Own Boss, Stylus, whose love and passion for music started at a very young age said he was delighted to work with Stonebwoy because he is a talented artiste.

In order to get his song everywhere, he has put together a five-member team to push his latest song which he intends to release tomorrow.

With musical inspirations from Bounty Killer, Bob Marley, Morgan Heritage, Sizzla, Stonebwoy and 2Pac, he said he does not just do dancehall but can do other genres of music as well.

“Apart from dancehall, I can do R and B & Hip-Hop as well. Once I have a good beat, I will do something nice on it,” he said. Currently under IBM Records, Stylus is set to release another single, Change in the next couple of weeks.
