Veteran football administrator, Alhaji MND Jawula believes a yearly financial investment from the government of Ghana into football is the only remedy to bring Ghana football on top again.

According to the Chairman of the Ghana Premier League Board, a better football economy will have a positive impact on the country's economic landscape, hence, the need for the government to channel some of its investment there.

One of the major issues that hinder the progress of Ghanaian clubs has been about finances as these clubs continue to lose their icons to rival clubs on the African continent.

In an interview with 'Beyond The Pitch' on GTV sports+'s, MND Jawula said just GH¢10 million yearly investment will be the antidote to the problems in Ghana football.

"I have always maintained my position on this matter in the media, the easiest way is for the government is convinced that the economy will hugely benefit if football is well done."

"The government needs to put a little into football, it doesn't need to put too much. If the government is prepared to put just GH¢10 million into football and we give money to the clubs to run the football, it will bring a lot of change."

He added that what he is proposing is not alien to the African continent as West African countries like Liberia and Nigeria are embarking on a similar exercise to give their clubs a facelift.

"I'm saying this because it is happening in other countries like Liberia even before Oppong Weah became the President. It also happens in Nigeria, Enyimba FC is supported by the Abba state, Kanu Pillars is also supported by the Kanu state but in Ghana, it is only the federation." Alhaji MND Jawula concluded.
