Actor John Dumelo is in South Africa as part of the 2017 edition of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF).

The 18th edition of the CTIJF will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Friday and Saturday. The Ghana team are part of a larger one of actors and musicians, media personnel as well as travel and tourism professionals from other African countries being hosted by South Africa Tourism to different experiences as part of this year’s CTIJF.

Also part of the team are Nigerian actor Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), Nigerian musician Seyi Shay and popular Nigerian television presenter Bolanle Olukanni.

Organisers of the jazz festival have announced that several South African and international jazz performers and groups will be performing at the 18th Cape Town Jazz Festival. Some of artistes are contemporary jazz super group Jazz Funk Soul with Everette Harp, Jeff Lorber & Paul Jackson Jr (USA), a line-up uniting three of the world’s most admired fusion players: saxophonist Everette Harp, keyboardist Jeff Lorber and world-renown guitarist Paul Jackson Jr.

Others include one of the most successful female groups of all time, the ‘real funky divas’ of En Vogue (USA); multiple SAMA, KORA and Metro music award winner, guitarist Ernie Smith (SA) and the 2017 winners of the espYoungLegends competition VuDu (SA) – founding members Sisanda “Sunda” Myataza (vocals) and Kristo Zondagh (drums) are joined in this fresh incarnation by Wesley Keet (keyboards) and new bass player Grant Allison to produce a fusion of traditional and African jazz with urban contemporary genres. As part of the experiences for this hosting by SA Tourism, the team would be in Knysna, a tourism haven in the Western Cape along the Garden Route.

At Knysna the team will undergo spa treatments, hot air balloon rides, visit game reserve, power boating, bird watching among other experiences. The team will leave Knysna on Friday to Cape Town to other experiences including a visit to Robben Island, Table Mountain, wine lands tour and wine tasting, boat cruise as well as attend dinners and the jazz festival on Friday and Saturday night.
