Jazz collaboration at Alliance Francaise

Lansine Kouyaté, the Malian balafon maestro, will collaborate with French electric vibraphone player, David Neerman, in a concert on Saturday, November 16 at the Alliance Francaise in Accra.

Sponsored by Institut Francais, the 8.00 p.m. concert is expected to see the two brilliant players put the audience in what the event organisers refer to as “a hypnotic trance with a unique sonic landscape beyond African music, rock, jazz and electro.”

The duo is on an African tour that will also take them to Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina-Faso, Senegal, Gambia and Mali.

Curtain-raiser for the concert will be an Accra-based Japanese couple, Masa and Hirono, known together as Tayuta. The couple are said to offer delicate doses of soul, Afro beats, and world music fused with messages of peace and respect for mother nature.
