Movie producer, David Owusu has denied claims by actor Prince David Osei that he did not pay him after a movie they shot.

Prince David Osei reacting to a report that David Owusu has advised Kumasi actors to be weary because people who act in English are coming to that territory to act, stated that Mr Owusu should not be taken serious because he is an attention seeker.

He added that the movie producer failed to pay him after he worked with him in 2011.

“The David Owusu we are talking about is a producer. He is one shoddy guy, a swindler, takes people’s money to produce movies for them and he doesn’t do it. He’s been in police custody several times. The last time I remember working with him was in 2011. He couldn’t even pay me so that guy wants attention,” he alleged on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz.

He added that on other occasions when he worked with the actor, he was not handling payment.

“We shot ‘The Battle’. We had a very good relationship so we went into an agreement that he takes this right so I take that right [America and Ghana]. We signed a contract. I don’t owe David Osei,” he fumed.

On the issue of his arrest, Mr Owusu told host, KMJ that, “I’m a businessman aside production. If one way or the other, you have a misunderstanding with somebody and he reports you to the police, that doesn’t make you a criminal. Yes, I have had one or two issues with certain people that has landed at the police station…”

He however stated that he only commented on the posture of actors who speak English. He indicated that all he tried to say was that actors need to work on their work ethics.
