I am very fit – Paa George

Ace Ghanaian actor, George Appiah Kubi known in entertainment circles as Paa George has hinted that he is not dying any time soon.

According to him, he sees so many years ahead of him before he leaves the world.

His comment follows the loss of prominent industry players in recent times like, veteran actor Solomon Simpson, former president for the Ghana Actors Guild, Nii Odoi Mensah and his colleague Rev Eddie Coffie, Comedian Yaw Donkor also known as Nkomode, Bob Okala known in real life as Samuel Kwadwo Buabeng and Concert Promoter Kofi Acquah popularly known as ‘99’ who collapsed during Okala’s funeral and subsequently died upon arrival at the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital.

Speaking to Adom Entertainment News, Paa George said jokingly that the weak ones are dying while the strong ones continue to live.

“I am 79 years old and still counting my days ahead. I am as strong as anything you can compare me to,” he emphasized.

He further explained that the job is tiresome and takes away lots of energy and that may contribute to the recent death.

The good old actor therefore called on government to invest more into the comedy industry to commensurate the hard work of comedians in Ghana.

“They sometimes pretend as if they do not see the importance and contribution of comedy to the nation but I think it is about time they give us money in order to encourage us to work harder,” he intimated.
