Haruna Iddrisu is NDC surest bet going forward – NDC activist

Even before the outgoing President of the land, John Dramani Mahama, decides either to contest or not to contest the 2020 general elections, some activists of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have started rooting for Haruna Iddrisu as their next presidential candidate.

One of such activists is Yakubu Tony Aidoo, a Kumasi-based scrap dealer who is also a member of the NDC communication team for Asewase constituency.

Aidoo, a dyed-in-the-wool activist of the NDC, believes that the Tamale South constituency legislator is the surest bet for the umbrella family if President John Dramani Mahama decides not to contest the 2020 poll.

“He [Haruna Iddrisu] is a very good politician and I will root for him if President Mahama decides not to contest the next elections,” he told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Wednesday.

The scrap dealer was sharing his thoughts over the possible cause of NDC’s defeat in last Wednesday’s general elections and what the party needs to do going forward.

Commenting further, he said one of the key traits that makes Haruna Iddrisu stands tall among his peers is the way he easily mingles with people irrespective of their colour, tribe, religion and social status.

“He [Haruna Iddrisu] doesn’t care to sit you down and play. He is not like some other people I know in our party,” he argued.
