Ghanaian Actress Lydia Forson Makes Ghana Proud in Sierra Leone

Actress Lydia Forson arrived in Sierra Leone for the first time ahead of a movie project there.

This is her second trip to an African country for a movie in less than three months. In May, she was in Liberia for a movie with other top selected actors from across Africa.

She left Ghana for Sierra Leone on Sunday, July 15 and is expected to spend a couple of weeks there as the movie project will take a while. Even though details of the production are readily not available, sources say it is a huge production being backed by some African super powers.

Lydia remains a remarkable actress to have come out of Ghana, as she has passion for what she does on the screens. For some time now, she has been travelling out of Ghana for different projects. She is the first Ghanaian actress to present an award at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), described as Africa’s Oscar.

This year, she was at the awards as a special guest. The bubbly actress presented an award for Best Young/Upcoming Actor category to Nigeria’s Ivie Okujaye who won for her role in the movie ‘Alero’s Symphony’. Lydia raised the flag of Ghana high on stage that night.

Her first AMAA appearance was in 2009 when she was nominated for Promising Actress of the Year. In 2010, she went as a nominee and fortunately returned to Ghana as a co-winner of Best Actress in Leading Role for her performance in ‘Perfect Picture’ by Sparrow Production.

Lydia was in the news last week over purported kisses with ace comedian Funny Face. She is yet to react to the story and picture of them circulating.

We wish her good luck. ***
