Popular UK singer Ed Sheeran is heading to Ghana to record new music as part of a career adventure in Africa.

The 24-year-old English singer-songwriter and musician said he is looking for “inspiration” for his upcoming music and believes the ambience in Ghana could help inspire his new project.

Starrfmonline.com is unable to disclose the date of his coming.

“It’s obviously a little bit out of Ed’s comfort zone, but he is all about experimenting and trying new things,” The Sun quoted a source close to the West Yorkshire born musician.

According to the report, Ed Sheeran’s motivation to travel to the former British Colony is part of a larger goal to “include sounds and influences from around the world, particularly Africa” in new material.

The Thinking Out Loud hit singer is hoping to store the sounds he will be recording in Ghana and other African countries for future songs.

The Give Me Love vocalist is being inspired by Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn’s ongoing African Express, which has had Western and African musicians collaborating and performing live shows since 2006.

“[Ed] got in touch with Damon after seeing his work with African musicians and he has given him some good advice,” the insider revealed.
