Ghanaians are gradually adhering to the President's lockdown and social distancing order which has become necessary as a move to stem further spread of the virus.

In view of that, some major restaurants and bars in Adjiriganor have been closed down.

Though restaurants were exempted from the lockdown order, because they fall within the category of food and essential service providers, places like Cocovanila, Sports bar, Cave Cafe which are usually patronised by many, especially during festive seasons have been left abandoned and these eateries were closed.

President Akufo-Addo on March, 15, 2020 imposed a ban on all public gatherings including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies and church activities and related events as part of measures to stop the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

This ban has, however, been extended by another two weeks due to the increasing number of recorded cases in the country.

Ghana has confirmed 408 cases of the novel Coronavirus.

So far 8 regions out of the 16 regions in the country have recorded cases of the coronavirus with 8 deaths.

Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Northern, North East, Upper East and Upper West.

According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) 205 were reported from the routine surveillance, 88 from enhanced surveillance activities and 115 from travellers under mandatory quarantine in both Accra and Tamale,"

Additionally, there is an extension on the lockdown imposed on Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi by one more week from Monday, April 13, 2020.

This comes after a 14-day restriction was imposed on March 30, on movements in parts of the country with the aim of controlling the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
