Don’t judge me - Kumawood star Maame Serwaa

Clara Amoateng Benson aka Maame Serwaa is known within the Ghana movie circles as the young lady who consistently plays the role of a young witch but she says she is nothing compared to what most movie lovers in Ghana perceive her to be.

She has acted with celebrated actors like Agya Koo, Kwadwo Nkansah LiWin, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Vivian Jill, Rose Mensah aka Kyeiwaa, Mercy Asiedu, Kwaku Manu,
Bill Asamoah and others. Speaking exclusively to TV3news, the young talented actress said she is only doing a job she loves and appreciates.

“People think that it’s true and real that Maame Serwaa can be a witch because of the way I act but all I can say is that it is never true.

“The movies are edited to add a lot more to it but when it comes to actions I don’t really want people to judge me again based on what I do in movies.” According to Maame Serwaa, she usually gets eyebrows being raised at her when she is in public even though she sometimes tries to explain why she takes such roles in movies.

“I have people approaching me and telling me how badly I acted in a movie because they did not like the role I played whiles some love my acting and even encourage me to do better. “When it comes to my real life, I’m different from how I act in movies so they shouldn’t judge me based on what I do in movies”.
