Comedy, music at ‘Lord of the ribs’

Ghanaian comedian, DKB, has promised to deliver at the second edition of ‘Lord Of The Ribs’ scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The comedian, who has won the confidence of comedy lovers since his performance at the 1018 Laughs and Comedy Series last year, is hopeful to give patrons a piece of the craft that has endeared him to many in recent times.

He told The Mirror on Tuesday that it wasn’t for nothing that ace comedian and host of Thank God is Friday, KSM, crowned him “ King of Comedy” in the year under review on his show, and for such an honour done his brand he was prepared to defend the title at the upcoming event.

“Thank God Ghanaians now have hope in me for being one of the best comedians at the moment. The night is going to be a great one as I will be sharing jokes on different topics. I want to prove to Ghanaians that the Nigerian comedians are not better than us,” he said

Other artistes billed for the show are Basketmouth, SIM Card and Hogan.

Aside comedy, music will also feature prominently. Highlife musicians Nana Yaa, Akwaboah, Pat Thomas, Kojo Akwaboah and Smart Nkansah will entertain the audience from their repertoire of songs.

According to Alhassan Nabil, CEO of Event Factory, organisers of the show, his outfit decided to select the artistes because they believed they could make the night a wonderful one.

“Nana Yaa will perform with her dad, the legendary Pat Thomas, and Akwaboah with his father, Kojo Akwaboah. Event factory is known for Black and White concert and Waakye Party. It will be a good night,” he said.

Lord of the Ribs brings together on one stage some of the popular comedians and musicians in Ghana and Nigeria.

The first edition, held in 2013, featured comedians Gordons, Omo Baba, Bash and Gandoki, and musicians R2Bees, YaaYaa and Rex Omar.
