The Founder of Concerned Voters Movement (CVM), Razak Kojo Opoku has opined that it is only a strong economy that can support individuals to raise the whopping sum of 420,000 Ghana Cedis as the filing fee being demanded by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to the President of CVM, "NDC has successfully endorsed the 'monetization' of the party's internal democratic elections".

All male flag bearer aspirants of the NDC are expected to pay GHS400,000 as filing fee while female flag bearer aspirants are to pay GHS200,000 and persons with disability aspiring to the same position are to pay GHS150,000.

The nomination form for the flagbearer slot is going for GHS20,000.

Also, the parliamentary aspirants are expected to pay GHS20,000 as filing fees. Female parliamentary aspirants will pay half of that.

The party took the decision at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday, 29th November at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

According to the party, all aspirants have 10 days to submit their properly filled forms.

A statement signed by the group's founder, Kojo Opoku stated that, "...it is only a strong economy that can support individuals to raise the whopping sum of 420, 000 Ghana Cedis as the Filing Fee being demanded by the NDC".

He added, "The Excellent Economic Fundamentals under President Akufo-Addo's Government have really exposed the 'stupidity' and 'foolishness' of NDC's leadership".

"The NDC's leadership and General Membership have been wailing, whining, weeping, gnashing their teeth and bitterly complaining about economic hardships but have the audacity to demand of their Presidential Aspirants to cough a whopping sum of 4.2 billion Ghana Cedis as the Filing Fee. This is totally absurd".

"The 420,000 Ghana Cedis multiplied by the number of NDC'S Presidential Aspirants can provide jobs to about 100,000 youths in Ghana", he stated.

Below is the full statement;

BOOMING ECONOMY UNDER NPP GOVERNMENT HAS EXPOSED THE 'STUPIDITY' AND 'FOOLISHNESS' OF NDC OVER THE PARTY'S PRESIDENTIAL FILING FEE

It is entirely insensitive and ridiculous for a social democratic party that uphold the principle of bridging the gap between the rich and the poor as enshrined in the NDC's Party Constitution to demand a whopping sum of GHC 420, 000 as the Filing Fee from their Presidential Aspirants. This decision is the most absurd ever made by a social democratic party.

What even further exposes the 'stupidity' and 'foolishness' of the NEC and FEC of the Baboon's Party is the betrayal of their own beliefs against the performance of President Akufo-Addo's Government.

The NDC's leadership and General Membership have been wailing, whining, weeping, gnashing their teeth and bitterly complaining about economic hardships but have the audacity to demand of their Presidential Aspirants to cough a whopping sum of 4.2 billion Ghana Cedis as the Filing Fee. This is totally absurd.

Does the NDC membership and leadership have any conscience at all? Honestly, the answer I think is a Big No.

The Excellent Economic Fundamentals under President Akufo-Addo's Government have really exposed the 'stupidity' and 'foolishness' of NDC's leadership.

It is only a strong economy that can support individuals to raise the whopping sum of 420, 000 Ghana Cedis as the Filing Fee being demanded by the NDC.

NDC has successfully endorsed the 'monetization' of the Party's internal democratic elections.

Money has taken over meritocracy, party's principle, competence and intelligence in the NDC.

NDC's leadership has proven that their Party's Delegates elect leaders on the basis of deep and deeper pockets.

In effect, John Mahama is enjoying the support and cooperation from the current leadership of the NDC because he is the one largely keeping the taxpayers stolen money.

The 420,000 Ghana Cedis multiplied by the number of NDC'S Presidential Aspirants can provide jobs to about 100,000 youths in Ghana.

According to the NDC's leadership, it is all about stolen money over competence and incompetence over intelligence

I am proud to be a card bearing and dues paying member of the NPP that cherishes competence and intelligence.

Signed!
