Our class of the University of Ghana Business School, then called School of Administration, met Prof Mills, then Dr Mills in 1974. We were 74 in number, having entered the prestigious school with not lees than aggregate 6 or 7 at the GCE Advanced level or Upper 6th.
When he entered to teach us Commercial Law, from the UG Law faculty the first thing he told us, after preliminary interaction, jokingly, was: ''Why have you brilliant guys and ladies chosen to come and read BSc Administration? You should have come to the Law Faculty to read law. We need more lawyers. You are too brilliant to stay here''
The man was a father figure. His knowledge of the subject was impeccable. He would pop up in class from Court, in his black attire and lecture, citing numerous case laws, with accurate dates, without looking into any book or sheet of paper. His quizzes were fantastic motivators. He would award chocolates to the best students in his quizzes.
Kwadwo Baah Wiredu,(May he rest peacefully), Maxwell Novixoxo, Asigbi Augustine, Grace Adzroe, Anowie, one Johnson Fiebor, Moses Ajibade, Habada, Abotsi, Pius Adotey, who got admission to a top US University after our program in 1977, William Ampem - Darko, alias Willie Pee, Peter Mac - Manu, alias Mac Gee, Joe Anani and a host of others were in our class of 1974-1977.
Professor mills, we thank you for moulding us into useful citizens.
