The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has stated that the fight against corruption can not be won by the use of violence or macho men, but by building strong institutions.

He indicated that government position on corruption hadn’t changed and that a number of things have happened which vindicates government.

According to him “you don’t fight corruption with macho men, you can line people upbeat them up and shoot them because you wanted to stop corruption, a few years later it will catch up with you,
You. You fight it by building strong institutions.”

He posited that government is handling corruption cases with tact and allowing institutions to work. “You will see what we are doing with the Airbus scandal you ask a state institution to investigate to ensure a clear outcome is arrived at. On the issue of missing excavators, the Police CID is investigating that matter too.”

He called on Ghanaians to focus on challenging state institutions to perform their responsibilities without fear nor favour, and also volunteer information to the appropriate agencies.

Let’s help state institutions with useful information to the institutions to ensure to come up with the truth or otherwise of alleged corrupt cases, Oppong Nkrumah stated.
