We have not been contacted by Anas – StarTimes denies reports

StarTimes has denied reports claiming it has issued a warning letter to Anas Armeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI, banning them from showing any footage of the Ghana Premier League in the yet to be premiered Number 12 exposé, which borders on the rot, match-fixing, and mal-administration in football under embattled Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

According to a news report published by mynewsgh.com, the Chinese multinational media company refused to release footages of the Ghana Primer League (GPL) to the ace investigative reporter to analyze and determine if indeed illegal payments to referees influenced the tournament.

"StarTimes is so far refusing to co-operate with the efforts of Ghanaian and international news organizations who possess damning evidence of corruption within the leadership of the Ghana Football Association, according to sources close to several ongoing investigations," mynewsgh.com reported.

Mynewsgh.com added that, "StarTimes risks losing the faith of the Ghanaian people and their lucrative GFA television contracts and public goodwill over the Anas exposé as it has generated massive interests from all sides since its announcement."

But in a statement copied to GhanaWeb and signed by the head of marketing at StarTimes, Akofa Djankui, the company said it has not been approached by Tiger Eye PI or any investigative team for footage on any of the GPL matches they have covered so far.

“Indeed footage and highlights of all matches produced by StarTimes for Television are available on the StarTimes APP and on our Facebook page,” the statement reads further.

“We have and will always abide by the regulations and rules of any engagement that has brought our business this far. Once again, we would like the general public to ignore the said publication.”
