The Headmaster of Sankor Senior High School near Dixcove in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region, Mr. Joseph K. Blay has made a passionate appeal to government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the school and improve facilities to enhance teaching and learning.

He bemoaned that the current state of affairs of the school is crippling academic work and is affecting both the staff and students.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Blay lamented that there is no shuttle bus to convey both students and masters to and from school though the school is noted for its operation as a 'Day school'.

Adding that, the location of the school makes it difficult for renting accommodation and as such, most of the students placed in the school, turn down the offer which in turn affects actual enrollment of students in the school.

The headmaster said the few students who happen to secure accommodation at Agona-Nkwanta had to commute to the school by commercial vehicles which was draining their pockets.

Also, the school, which is operating in an uncompleted E-Block structure without light and washrooms is making life quite unbearable for teachers and students.

The school has no computers to equip students with Information, Communication, Technology (ICT) lessons to make them fit into the globalized village.

Touching on its achievements, Mr. Blay said as a budding school, it won a trophy for emerging the best Independence Day Celebrations March Past School in 2018 in the Ahanta-West Municipality of the Western Region.

He said the school has a staff strength of 30 and runs courses in General Arts, Business, Agriculture and Home Economics but bemoaned that it had only one English Language Tutor teaching Forms one to three.

The Sankor Senior High School which was established in September 2016, will present its first batch of candidates for the West African Senior School
