The majority of contractors across the country have expressed disappointment with the NPP government over the delayed release of funds to pay them.

According to some of these contractors, they have not been paid since 2016.

In July 2019, some contractors stormed the Roads Ministry to demand their monies for work done.

But the deputy Finance Minister in charge of the budget, Abena Osei Asare told Citi FM on Monday, October 14 that government has released GH¢1.2 billion to pay road contractors so far in 2019.

She also revealed that about 192 contractors whose projects were captured in the 2019 annual budget funding will receive their monies soon.
