A Deputy Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, is pleading with members from the media fraternity and the country at large to forgive organisers of Akufo-Addo’s Encounter with Journalists if they did not meet their expectations.

Issues of time management in Wednesday’s event became the focal point of discussions on many media platforms across the country with a cross-section of the public blaming the organisers for rushing the President through the event.

Critics say journalists were not given enough time to grill the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on issues that border on basic needs of the ordinary citizen.

Minister for Information, Mustapha Hamid who moderated the event kept reminding the journalists who were invited to the event to be brief with their submissions since the President has equally important programs to attend.

His remarks, however, did not go down well with a cross section of the public who hold the view that if the President had little time, then why call for such an event.

But Mr. Nkrumah who is also the Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi speaking in an interview with Akwasi Nsiah on Si Me So, on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Wednesday, pleaded for forgiveness if they erred.

“If the Minister reminded journalist about the President’s other engagements, it wasn’t for any bad intention. Prior to going live on air, he had reminded journalists to be brief with their submissions because we wanted as many people to ask questions. But if the understanding did not go down well with the people, please forgive us”, he pleaded.
