Next scandal is from Senior Minister’s office – Kevin Taylor hints

Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo

Avowed critic of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and host of ‘With All Due Respect',Kevin Ekow Baidoo Taylor, has dropped a hint of where the next scandal will come from.

In a Facebook post, the NPP member wrote: “Next week’s scandal is sponsored by the Senior Minister’s office…” suggesting Mr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo is likely to be the focus on his next episode in the coming days

It is unclear what the scandal is about but information gathered points to the Senior Minister’s working with Kroll Associates.

It will be recalled that Kroll Associates have been cited by the Auditor General to have received payments wrongfully.

The Auditor General’s Department in its annual report on Public Accounts of Ghana (PAG) as of 31 December 2018 on the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), the Auditor-General stated: “During our review of the contract with Kroll Associates, we noted that though there was no evidence of work done, the ministry, in 2018, paid an amount of US$1 million (equivalent of GH¢4,890,000) to the company”

Kevin Taylor has used mainly Facebook to detail alleged acts of corruption by government, and has become a leading critic of government.

The host of ‘With All Due Respect – Loud Silence Media’ is already facing a GH¢10 million defamation suit by Legal practitioner Ace Kojo Anan Ankomah for allegedly defaming him.

A writ by the plaintiff’s counsel Thaddeus Sory said, “damages in the sum of GHc10,000,000 for the defamatory statements published by the defendants on defendants’ Facebook page ‘With All Due Respect – Loud Silence Media’ on 23/07/19 and YouTube on 24/07/19, the subject matter of this suit.”
