Kwadwo Bamba, has announced that the Kumasi-based group has been dissolved Kwadwo Bamba, has announced that the Kumasi-based group has been dissolved

The founder of the Delta Force Group, a militia group affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Bamba, has announced that the Kumasi-based group has been dissolved.

He said the decision to dissolve the group follows the introduction of the Vigilantism and Related Offences Bill, which will disband activities of political party militia groups.

The Attorney General, Ms Gloria Akuffo, on Thursday, 11 April 2019, laid the bill before parliament.

The Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Oquaye, referred the bill to the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee to be considered under a certificate of urgency.

Speaking to Accra-based Neat FM on Friday, 12 April 2019, Mr Bamba said: “Officially, there is no group like Delta Force again in the NPP.

“After series of meetings with the leadership of the party, we have agreed to disband the group to bring peace, but all the members are still part of the NPP.”

“This is also to show respect to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who has called for the disbandment of the groups. And, as we speak, the group has been dissolved but the members still belong to the NPP.”
