Kpandai GES staff beg government to complete abandoned office building

The Kpandai District Directorate of Education has appealed to government to complete an abandoned GETFund-sponsored office accommodation for the directorate.

The one-storey office accommodation for the education directorate started in 2006, but construction work stalled. Weeds and domestic animals have taken over the uncompleted building.

Currently, the directorate is using a block constructed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which is not enough to accommodate all schedule officers.

Three to four schedule officers currently occupy one office space, something the staff say, makes it difficult for them to work effectively.

Kpandai District Director of Education, Faustina Nayan, told 3news.com that the directorate has made several follow-ups to GETFund secretariat for work to resume on the building but without success.

“The building is 13 years old but still not completed. I have sent pictures and reports to GETFund secretariat showing how my officers are crowded but still no response,” she stated.

She appealed to government to see to the completion of the abandoned office accommodation to facilitate good administrative work.
