Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid glowing tribute to the late founder of Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, describing him as a genius whose life transformed countless others.

He recounted their first meeting about forty years ago when Apostle Safo personally approached him to serve as his lawyer, an encounter that would blossom into a lifelong bond.
"I remember vividly, some forty years ago, when he sent emissaries to my office to ask if I would consider being his lawyer. Not long after, he came personally to see me, a man of great vision and yet extraordinarily simple. That meeting marked the beginning of a friendship that grew deeper with time, a bond built on mutual respect, trust, and shared devotion to the progress of our beloved nation, Ghana," the tribute read.

The former President also recalled a particularly personal moment when the late Apostle entrusted his daughter, Adwoa, to his guidance, a gesture that further deepened their relationship beyond professional boundaries.
"At a point, he entrusted to me his brilliant daughter, Adwoa, then a young woman with a bright legal mind and a passion for excellence. He wanted her to be a wife under my tutelage, and I saw in her the same spark, humility, and intellect that defined her father. That gesture deepened our bond — not just as colleagues or friends, but as one family knit together by purpose and respect," it read.
He also pointed out Apostle Safo’s support during his presidential journey, describing him as “a spiritual pillar, a father figure, and a person whose vision for Ghana transcended the ordinary.”
According to Akufo-Addo, Apostle Safo’s belief in the Ghanaian spirit and his pioneering works in technology and innovation exemplified his vision of a self-reliant, and God-fearing nation.
“The nation has lost a light, a guide, a prophet of purpose, and an inventor of divine imagination,” he said.
“Yet even in death, his works speak. His machines still breathe life into his vision; his church continues to lift souls; and his example remains a compass for all who dream of a self-reliant, God-fearing Ghana," it said.
Reflecting on Apostle Safo’s enduring legacy, Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude for the privilege of knowing him and learning from his life.
“He lived a full and impactful life, one that will echo through generations. May the Almighty God grant this great son of Africa a peaceful and dignified rest. His memory shall never fade, for he was, and forever will be, a true gift to Ghana, to Africa, and to the world. Rest well, Apostle Safo, the Star of Africa, the Man of Vision, the Servant of God," he added.
The late Apostle died on September 11, 2025, at the age of 113 years.
