Greenstreet sings NDC’s propaganda tune against Bawumia – Karbo

Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Anthony Karbo says he is not surprised over Convention People’s Party(CPP) Flagbearer, Ivor Greenstreet’s scathing attack launched against Nana Addo’s running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to him, if Bawumia could easily be targeted by the Presidency, because the NDC feels threatened by the influence of the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, then an attack from another opposition force wouldn’t mean anything to the NPP.

He however said he’s scandalized by the conduct of Mr. Greenstreet as a leader of another opposition party targeting a fellow opposition politician.

“I feel very sad; if you tend to talk ill about him[Greenstreet] you’ll be condemned for doing so. Just listen to the unpalatable comments he’s made about Bawumia. What is the meaning of Accra-Northerner, and what does he wish to achieve?

Karbo’s reaction comes after Mr. Ivor Greenstreet, took a swipe at Dr. Bawumia suggesting that the latter only seemed so much concerned about the welfare of people up-north because of his nomination as the running mate to NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The CPP Flagbearer described Dr. Bawumia as an “Accra Northerner” who hails from the Northern Region but does not understand the hardship of the people asking northerners to reject NPP for change in the December 7 general elections.

Addressing the people of Janga in the Walewale Constituency in the Northern Region, at a campaign event, Greenstreet said, voting for the NPP is a win for their families and cronies and not for the ordinary people of Ghana.

But Karbo told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM in an interview that such propaganda won’t wash because locals hail Bawumia as an alternative to Mahama’s disappointment to northerners.

“Bawumia has become a target because he’s now a huge political force with influence especially on young Northerners who have seen a President from the North, John Mahama, display so much incompetence and corruption to a point where a Northern brand has been devalued.

“As a matter of fact they have seen an alternative[Bawumia] who is making us so proud; very intelligent, very humble and so forthright and of course the right person to fix the economy because of his track record and his intellect”
