Give me 4 more years to finish my projects – Akufo-Addo appeals

President Akufo-Addo has appealed to the Ghanaian electorate to give him four more years in office to complete all the work he has started in his first term in office.

Speaking to the Chief and people of the Weija/Gbawe Constituency at a ceremony to cut the sod for the construction of a science-based Senior High School at the Weija Treatment Plant area, President Akufo-Addo said he has laid a strong foundation for the development of Ghana and his request for four more years in office will help build an even more prosperous Ghana.

“Nii, it will be difficult for me, you know I am a politician, to come here with an election around the corner and not say something a about the election. We are looking for Tina to come back to the house with an even stronger mandate and she should come back with her mandate and a mandate for Nana, four (4) more for Nana, so we can continue the foundation that we are laying for Ghana. It is important that all the strong work that has gone on to reconstruct our economy, laying the foundation for Agriculture and for industry and our education and health system, we should be able to continue for the benefit of the Ghanaian people” President Akufo Addo said.

Weija/Gbawe Chief

In his address to formally welcome President Akufo-Addo to Weija/Gbawe, the Chief of the area, Nii Boafo raised an issue over the non payment of compensation to the Chiefs and elders of the area after the State acquired the land on which the Weija water treatment plant is situated. President Akufo-Addo in response to the request said he knows very little about the issue, however, he will give it the needed attention to ensure that whatever compensation ought to be paid for the Weija water works lands acquisition is done.

Weija / Gbawe Dispute

Regarding a request by Nii Boafo, to the President to assist in finding a solution to the long standing dispute between Weija and Gbawe, President Akufo-Addo suggested that the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) approach could be the way forward. He assured the Chief that same will be done.

The School

The modern Science-based Senior High School when completed will comprise of classrooms blocks, a library, Multipurpose and state of the art science laboratories, staff common room, four bedroom residence for the principal and three bedroom for the Assistant principal, dometary block for students among other facilities.
