Freddie Blay is ‘an imposter, I won’t recognise him’ – Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe

Dr. Tamakloe says he will not recognise Freddie Blay as chairman of the NPP Dr. Tamakloe says he will not recognise Freddie Blay as chairman of the NPP

A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, has descended heavily on the party’s newly elected chairman, Freddie Blay, calling him as an “imposter”, vowing he and others will never recognize him.

He contended on 3FM’s Sunrise morning show Wednesday that the election of Freddie Blay as the Chairman of the party “legitimizes the coup d’état staged by his faction against the Paul Afoko’s administration”.

According to him, “an imposter has been used by a group of people to become the Chairman of the party”, a situation he claims, is not in consonance with the party’s convention of electing party chairmen from “within the party”.

He is worried that the situation will not serve the interest of the party arguing “If Freddie Blay is truly committed as a politician then he should fix the issues the in CPP rather than become the NPP and serve factional interest”.

He believes the leadership of Freddie Blay is going to plunge the party into “crises” and “division”, something he said he had warned the party about two years ago.

Dr. Tamakloe insists Freddie Blay is not a loyal member of the NPP for which reason he and other party members will not regard him as Chairman.

“I will never consider him as a true member of the NPP…I will never ever consider him as my chairman, those who want to consider him can go ahead and consider him. I know there are a lot of Ghanaians who are members of the New Patriotic Party who will not consider him as their chairman”, he said.

“Freddie Blay is not a member of our party, he has not been a member of our party for long”, he reiterated.

Regardless of his aversion towards the Chairman of the party, Dr. Tamakloe says he remains a member of the NPP and will protect his party from distraction by cautioning them each time they veer off.

Meanwhile, he has cautioned President Nana Akufo-Addo to be mindful of his administration because Ghanaians are watching.
