Dr. Nduom to mentor students of Nduom School of Business and Technology

The Head of Corporate Affairs of Groupe Ndoum, Frank Owosu-Ofori has reiterated the plans and good intentions of President and Chairman of the group, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom who has given a sum of GHC80,000 to some students of the Nduom School of Business and Technology (NBST).

According to him, the money given to the first eight (8) students is a seed capital intended to support them in starting and managing their own businesses as they continue to study in the institution.

Briefing www.GhanaWeb.com about the gesture, Mr. Owusu-Ofori said the act is part of the competitive strategy employed by Dr. Ndoum to give the pioneering students a superior and unique experience over their peers in other universities.

He is optimistic the capital would mature over the course of the period the students remain in the school till they graduate, indicating that the Chairman of Groupe Nduom would assist in their mentorship.

“Dr. Ndoum is going to chair the board and he is going to have Groupe Ndoum top Management serve as board members. He is going to groom these students because if you give to young people like that and you don’t care and train them they are not going to make good use of the money,” he said.

He also disclosed Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has structured a programmme at the Nduom School of Business and Technology (NSBT) where internship opportunities and vacation jobs with the over 64 Groupe Nduom companies is available to the pioneering students and all students who enroll with the school.

A juicy add-on to the list of treats some students are entitled to enjoy at the NSBT include, a hands-on experience at a GN Bank branch at the campus for students studying Banking and Finance.

“Aside the GHC80,000 he has given, any student including those who are already there who comes to the Nduom School of Business and Technology is going to enjoy attachment opportunities unlike the other Universities that you get up and take letters around for jobs and attachment,” Owusu-Ofori stressed.

Dr. Ndoum while presenting the money to the students at a management meeting in Elmina said, “Now this money will give you a good start in entrepreneurship. In line with the courses that you are studying here at the university, we would train you so one can be Manager of the enterprise, one the Accountant, someone can be the Auditor, and another can do the marketing. Groupe Nduom will set you up and ensure that you turn that GHC 80,000 capital into a profitable venture,” he disclosed.
