Member of Parliament for Tafo Pankrono Constituency, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei says reports that he was attacked by pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group Delta Force over the weekend have been exaggerated.

He says no one attacked him though he saw about four men on motorbike storm the venue of his meeting with some party officers on Sunday.

He explained that one of the guys hit a table with a chair, disrupting the proceeding.

Explaining how events unfolded on 3FM’s Sunrise on Monday, the Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation stayed away from the centre of the action but later decided not to be part of the meeting by driving away, though it continued.

Video footage of the disruption made rounds on social media with the attackers claiming the MP has failed to fulfil his promise of employment to them.

Dr Akoto Osei explained that he had attended a couple of similar meetings that day before heading to the Tafo Pankrono M/A Junior High School for the meeting.

According to him, he even got to the grounds late as per his preceding engagements but saw the motorbikers, one of whom he identified as a polling station chairman.

The MP expressed surprise at the situation, particularly with the involvement of Jafar Saeed, who is popularly known as OD 4.

Dr Akoto Osei says he suspects there are some persons behind it

Meanwhile, the police have been informed for further action.
