A private legal practitioner, Bernard Owiredu Donkor says any ‘last-minute’ interlocutory injunction that would stop the premiering of a football related investigative documentary by undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas will not work.

He has since cautioned anyone planning to apply for one to stop because the court will not just grant the applicant an injunction on a silver platter.

Lawyer Donkor who was speaking to Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman on Power News on Power 97.9 MHz said a judge will use his/her discretion in determining whether it is necessary to grant the injunction or not.

“The court will ask whether the plaintiff/applicant is a party to the case and again whether who will suffer most if the premiering goes on” the lawyer added, ruling out injunction on Tuesday night.

Many individuals and groups including Friends of Kwesi Nyantakyi have threatened a court action against the premiering of the latest investigative documentary by Anas titled ‘Number 12’, which has more than 80 Ghanaian ‘football people’ on record engaging in corrupt activities.

The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for alleged corrupt activities.

Mr. Kwesi Nyantakeyi was seen in a portion of the video attempting to use the President’s name and that of the Vice President and other senior members of government to induce supposed potential investors into the country to part with various sums of monies, according to government.

A few people including President Akufo Addo and the Vice President, Dr Bawumiah have had the chance to watch portions of the yet to be premiered video.

The premiering of the latest investigative documentary by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas called Number 12 is showing at the Accra International Conference Center on 6th and 7th June 2018, with four screenings each day: 3pm, 5pm, 8pm & 10pm.
